August 2018

It's been a lovely summer with beautiful warm, sunny days.  We have been in the garden relaxing and trying to keep cool with plenty of ice lollies and drinks.

Mel & Claire took some residents on our second boat trip down the River Medway.  We enjoyed coffee and cakes whilst floating down the river.

We were entertained by our regular visiting Nursery Children, who sing songs, play games and generally run around, which is most enjoyable to watch.  The same children visit each time, which is lovely as we get to see them grow up and blossom.

Mel organised a new singer to come and sing with us.  He had us all up and dancing whilst he played some great songs on his keyboard.

June / July 2018

June was full steam ahead with preparations for our annual Summer Fayre.  We're having various stalls including plants, tombola, cakes, guess the name of the teddy, guess the weight of the cake, raffle, wood work, Avon and of course our legendary BBQ.

Our Fete clashed with the England football on Saturday 7th July - but this didn't stop us from having fun and raising an amazing £546.  What a glorious day it was indeed, lovely weather, good food and good company.  We were entertained by Miranda who sang for us.  Some of us were up dancing and singing along with her.

We held our annual Mr and Mrs Fairby Grange, which was won by our lovely Elvira and Alan.  Elvera was presented with a tiara and roses and Alan a crown and box of chocolates.  Well done both of you.

Also during June we visited the seaside and ventured out to our twice monthly Singing Club and Memory Cafe.

See our gallery page for some lovely photos of the fete.

May 2018

During May, Mel and Claire took some residents on our first boat trip this year.  We started out at Wateringbury and made a lovely round trip.  We had drinks, savoury snacks and cakes on board.

Our second trip will be held in August.

We all sat in the lounge and watched the Royal Wedding then celebrated on into the afternoon with a lovely afternoon tea prepared by Mel.  Such a lovely event to watch.

Some of us ventured down the the Malta Inn Pub at Sandling, Maidstone.  We sat outside by the river and had a lovely lunch and a cheeky beer and wine, and enjoyed the lovely sun and great company.
