April 2016

During April we celebrated the Queens 90th Birthday in style.  Fairby was decorated with bunting, flags and balloons.  During the morning, we were entertained by 'Tickled Pink', a professional drama group who put on a fantastic show.  We sang along to songs from the 40's, waved flags and even joined in with the dancing.  We thoroughly enjoyed the shows theme and costume changes.

We then had a special 3 course lunch with wine.  We carried on the days events with a lovely afternoon tea of small cakes, scones and cups of tea.  Thank you Mel for all your hard work in making this day a memorable occasion.

Our gardening club is going extremely well.  for Spring, we planted pretty yellow flowers in our hanging baskets at the front door and our vegetable trough is brimming with parsnips ready for our cooks.

We are planning our garden fete for summer and Mel is planning new activities for our residents.

March 2016

During March we celebrated Mothering Sunday with a beautiful roast dinner and St Patricks day where were treated to a three course lunch consisting of Pate on Toast, Beef in Guinness, followed off by a tipsy Irish Cream Cheesecake.

Some residents have been busy planting new flowers in our hanging baskets and pots for the front garden, and have done a splendid job indeed.  Who needs Alan Titmarsh !

We are holding our yearly Easter Egg Raffle with some lovely eggs to win - even an oversized golden Lindt Bunny is up for grabs too.

Future events:

We will be celebrating the Queens birthday in style at Fairby this year with a professional show and a luxurious afternoon tea.

Planning for our forthcoming Garden Fete.

Planning for our yearly Boat Trip down the Medway River.

Spring 2016

Spring 2016 is finally here, although the wind does seem a bit chilly.

So far this year, we have planted some parsnips in our trough outside and are looking forward to having those with our Sunday roast.

During March our green fingered residents prepared some hanging baskets to hang by our front door.  As it was a bit chilly inside, we transformed our dining room into a large potting shed, so everyone got a chance to plant some pretty yellow flowers into baskets and pots.

We are looking forward to sunnier, warmer weather so we can get outside and clear all the winter plants away and create some new colourful displays.
