April 2026

Spring has finally begun to make itself known, and with the warmer days creeping in, our residents have been enjoying time out in the garden once again. It’s been wonderful to sit outside, feel the sunshine, and watch our beautiful fish gliding through the pond — a peaceful highlight of the day for many.

This month we went on our first boat trip of the year. We set off from Wateringbury Marina, wrapped up but smiling, and sailed gently downstream towards East Farleigh. The scenery was stunning as always, and everyone kept a keen eye out for kingfishers darting along the riverbanks.

Lunch was served on board, turning the journey into a floating picnic with great company. Afterward, we enjoyed a lively quiz and a good old-fashioned sing‑song, filling the boat with laughter and familiar tunes. On our return journey, we stopped to feed the ducks — a simple pleasure that never loses its charm.

We were also delighted to welcome the children from the nursery for their monthly visit. Their energy and laughter filled the home as we played games together, shared stories, and headed outside to feed the fish. These intergenerational moments are always heart‑warming and bring so much joy to both residents and children.

With brighter days ahead, we’re looking forward to many more outings, garden afternoons, and shared moments that make life at Fairby so special.

January - March 2026

Happy New Year to you all.

Despite the chilly weather over the past few months, our residents have continued to wrap up warm and enjoy their much‑loved Tuesday Club. A bit of cold certainly hasn’t stopped the laughter, games, and good company that make these afternoons such a highlight.

We’ve also welcomed some wonderful entertainers into the home. Music filled the lounges as residents sang along to familiar favourites and even enjoyed a little dancing. It’s been lovely to see so many smiles, tapping feet, and happy memories being shared.

February and March brought two special celebrations — Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. We marked both occasions with chocolates, treats, and plenty of heartfelt moments. Our residents enjoyed the decorations, themed activities, and the chance to celebrate love, family, and friendship.

As we move further into spring, we’re looking forward to more outings, more entertainment, and more opportunities to make joyful memories together.

November/ December 2025

The festive season has been wonderfully busy here at Fairby Grange, filled with community spirit, music, and plenty of Christmas cheer.

We were delighted to be invited to our local school for a special Christmas party, beautifully hosted by the children with special needs. Their hard work, enthusiasm, and kindness made the afternoon truly memorable for our residents.

Our celebrations continued with a visit from the local Beaver group, who joined us to sing Christmas carols and surprised everyone with a handmade Christmas card. Their energy and thoughtfulness brought big smiles all round.

Back at Fairby Grange, our own Christmas party was a joyful occasion. A fantastic singer entertained us while residents enjoyed mulled wine, mince pies, yule log, and plenty of singing and dancing. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our raffle — together, we raised an amazing £208. Every penny goes directly into our Residents’ Fund, helping us plan future outings and entertainment.

We were also honoured to be invited to Redlibbets Golf Club for yet another festive celebration. It was a lovely opportunity to get out, enjoy the season, and spend time with friends in our wider community.

We feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by such a supportive and generous community. Our residents truly enjoy getting out and about, and these moments of connection mean so much to us all.

From everyone at Fairby Grange, thank you for making this Christmas so special.
